PAYMENT OPTIONS

Here at Hometown Eye Care we believe in providing the best value for you and your family. We have products and pricing to accommodate all budgets and our office participates in many insurance programs.  If you have both medical and vision insurance plans, our office will coordinate the benefits to minimize your out-of-pocket costs

Our office accepts cash, check as well as major debit/credit cards.

ROUTINE VISION INSURANCE

We participate in vision insurance plans that emphasize professional eye care and quality eyewear.

Vision  insurance  covers ONLY routine eye exams for purchasing glasses or fitting and purchasing  contact lenses.  A "routine" eye examination checks for, but finds no medical problems.  The refraction (determination of the eye's prescription) is included, and since there are no medical problems, there is no discussion of problems or follow-up needed. Regardless of your vision insurance, most plans do not cover 100% of expenses, and thus you should expect some out-of-pocket costs.

MAJOR MEDICAL INSURANCE

Medical insurance pays toward eye care visits that are medical in nature.  An emergency visit, or one focused on a specific eye problem, would be submitted to medical insurance.  Some examples of a medical visit are: eye infection, floaters, eyelids styes, dry eyes, glaucoma treatment, loss of vision caused by a medical condition of the eye, etc.

Medical insurance may also pay toward a comprehensive examination if there is a medical reason for it (such as diabetes, cataracts, or any of the previously listed reasons).  If there is a medical diagnosis, we are required to submit the examination to the medical, not vision, insurance.

Don’t forget to use your:

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

  • Medical Savings Accounts (MSA)

Feel free to ask us any questions you may have, we will work with you to determine how to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses while staying within the insurance guidelines.

RETURN POLICY

Our primary goal with each pair of eyewear we sell is 100% patient satisfaction. Our trained opticians are well equipped to triage any and all problems that may occur with your custom-made eyewear. If the prescription is deemed defective or incorrectly made we will provide a one-time remake of those lenses for you at no extra charge within the first 60 days of pickup.

Frames: In the rare instance that a patient simply can not adapt to a pair of glasses within the first 30 days, we will credit the patient the full amount of the frame towards a new replacement frame. This is a one-time exchange.

Lenses: Your prescription lenses are custom made to your eyes, in which the lenses are designed specifically for your prescription. Therefore, prescription lenses can not be reused and are not eligible for a refund. If progressive lenses are ordered and you cannot adapt to them, we will have them remade to single vision, bifocal, or trifocal at no additional costs if this is the patient’s first remake.

Contact lenses: Contact lenses may be returned within 30 days of
purchase provided the box is unopened, unmarked, undamaged, unexpired, and in original condition with packaging. If a portion of your purchase was made using insurance benefits we are unable to reinstate benefits. You must contact your insurance company.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our small business. We are grateful for each and every one of you!
